While we’ve been working on completing the beta application code, we’ve also been getting ready to administer the trial itself. Some of you are aware that we had issues with email confirmations during the initial signup period. We’re hoping that sort of thing is behind us now.
During the next day, everyone who originally signed up for the beta trial will be getting confirmation emails along with a short survey to fill out. We can’t sign up additional people right now, but if you enter your email address on our home page, you’ll be the first to know if that changes.
Two weeks (or so) until we launch. We’re excited. We hope you are too.

Our library of content has just hit 30,000 today, and is growing at a rate of nearly 500 a day.
We initially set out to connect users with the world’s largest network of content, and to make it easily streamable through an intuitive interface that even your girlfriend can use. We’ll let you be the judge of whether or not we’ve succeeded come July (or June if you were lucky enough to get in on our beta test), but that’s approximately four years worth of content that we’re going to make available to your greedy and impatient little eyeballs, so be sure to clear up your evenings and load up on popcorn!
Forget BitTorrent, and forget PeekVid and its myriad of clones. Graboid is something very different, and we’re out to change the entire media landscape.

People have commented on some forums about lack of an email confirmation response from us during Beta signups. We apologize - the speed of response overloaded the itty bitty server we’d set up for the registrations.
It’s quite likely now that even when the product becomes commercially available, we won’t be publicly promoting it. Current beta users and a few more people will be invited to continue and issue invitations to their friends. If you register for notification on the site now, you’ll be part of the initial invitee group. It’s the only way we can make sure that bandwidth will be available for all users once we launch.
In the meantime, we’re going to go set up a bunch of BIG servers.

Well, we’ve just experienced 1000 beta signups in under 24 hours. Whew! Amidst reports that Graboid is a sting operation headed up by the MPAA, the signups just keep rolling in, and our wait list is growing by the minute.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to sign up — and no, we are certainly not a sting operation. We’re trying to keep things somewhat under wraps because our public launch isn’t occurring for a little while yet, and besides, isn’t it fun guessing? We threw the site together in an afternoon, but hopefully you’ve gotten a taste of the content and an idea of the service we’ll be rolling out in the coming months. You’ll be seeing what Graboid is all about, complete with a proper site, very soon.

Over the coming weeks, you’ll find updates here on the blog that are going to answer some of your questions, or maybe raise a few new ones — but we can assure you right now that we’re for real, and you’re in for one hell of a fun ride.
