We’ve actively avoided any sort of advertising on the Graboid site, mainly because we think it looks cheesy. Doesn’t mean we won’t eventually do it, but we’ll avoid it if we can. What do you think? Don’t care? Change your name and emigrate? Send us flame mail? Welcome it?
Don’t get me wrong. We’re greedy bastards like anyone else. But we also believe in providing as high quality a user experience as possible. Then again, if it doesn’t make anybody cringe, maybe we’ll consider it sooner rather than later.

Doesn’t bother me on the site, but please don’t stick it in the application! Speaking of which, the app suddenly took on a life of it’s own today, logging me in automatically and flashing the login box when I exit. It also frequently throws an error message upon existing, something about a null pointer…
Fixed my own problem. Managed to click “cancel” during the login. The “sign me in automatically” box had somehow gotten checked. Fixing that seemed to solve the other issues mentioned above. Any timetable on an update and what it’ll include?
I wouldn’t add any advertising it’s kinda contradictory seen as this is a download site. Plus it’ll only be crap like meet singles in your area now and subscription sites e.t.c it’ll just lower the tone! I did send youan email that wasn’t replyed to, it was about the films i downloaded not playing…and i also have the same shut down problem as above when i close this application i starts to sign me back in unless i cancel. When does my new month start it’s been ages’ since i downloaded something most of my inital bandwidth was taken up by files that didn’t work…?
oh, don’t worry about that i just looked up to see i am downloading:)
If you end up needing the advertising, please for the love of what ever gods you pray to, don’t get the flashing ones!! You know, the ones that cause seizures and massive bitchyness.
Thanks.
Most of the sites I go on that have advertsing are so gaotic that I just don’t bother to find out how they work. I’ll find one that does the same and doesn’t have so much advertising that it confuses me. I very strongly agree with the “Don’t stick it in the aplication” and the “Please don’t use the flashing ones” comments. I also want to add a ” Please don’t sell our email addresses” comment to that.
I doubt that we will leave Graboid because of the ads but the cooperation and friendlyness that you recieve now from your users will probably deminnish some, because Graboid will feel more like a unpersonal company than the ” I’m on your level, trying to make a buck” company it feels like now.
I do however understand that you are greedy like most of us and wish you all the luck and as much money you can make.
advertisments for the non pay customers and none for the ones who pay.
I completely agree with the above comment. Give the free users advertisements - and the paying customers none…I think the free users have to much…like they get to much for free. I don’t know…haha.
GRABOID RULES.
Nick.
I agree adds for free, no adds for paying members !!!
I hate advertisements! Definitely avoid them as long as you can!! I would rather download my movies and TV shows without being bothered by someone trying to sell me something. Maybe having more for unpaid members than for paid ones would be cool. Although the “meet singles” ones are less annoying because I just ignore those. Try not to have lies and scams like free vacations or something. At least don’t have the ones that flash at you and block whatever you’re trying to see for at least 30 seconds. That’s really annoying.
