Watch Full-Length Videos Online
21 Nov
As we decide how prominent to make the search function in the new version, we have to wonder how much browsing our users are doing, vs typing in the name of a show you want to watch and then scrolling through episodes. How much sorting, how much re-sorting, that sort of thing. Basically, we’re wondering what your typical visit with Graboid Video might be like.
I’ll typically do one of 3 things – do random searches on things I might like, say, movies from the 70’s – search ‘(197′ ; search for a specific title of a favorite movie or tv show; or just scroll through the latest postings, usually in the adult category where the concept of ‘favorite’ has less meaning. I’ve never clicked on the genre dropdowns, only the main categories.
Every once in a while I wish I could sort by language. And I wish there were more titles with green thumbs beside them. That makes the process of selecting one of several posts much much easier.
If we get input from you on your behavior, it will help us refine the interface, now and in future updates.

I constantly use the both the search and category functions, including the drop down ones. Being able to sort by language would also be a nice addition, but not really required or needed. Also, if you do put in a language sorter, it would be nice if you could include an option to search for whether there are subtitles that you could use. Some movies just sound more fluid with their original language
.
I use all the different methods that you mentioned in the blog I when I know what I am looking for will just type in the name and when I am just browsing I scroll the the different genres until I know what I want. But I have to say I do wish that as you said in the blog that there was a way to seperate by the language, so take all that as you please but I enjoy having all of the different options that I do.
The language sorter will be a great thing to intergrate into the application so u dont have to go scrolling through all the other languages, a right click drop down tab with a play, flag and download will make it a little faster for easy execution.
I think that a language sorter would be a great addition. I would also like to see a browser that was intuitive. Like the one that Google uses. For example, as you type in what you’re looking for it tries to guess for examples that are in your database. I also use all the menu options including the dropdown tabs. I don’t like the fact that if you don’t spell the title of the movie you’re looking for exactly sometimes it won’t find it. Sometimes if you search for a title in lower case and it’s listed in upper case it will not find the movie you’re looking for. It would be nice if it would find titles that came as close to what you’re looking for regardless of spelling or caps. I think that’s all for now, but if I think of anything else I’ll let you know. Thanks.
p.s. I love your website and make it a point to tell as many friends as I can. So far I’ve enlisted at least 20 people. It would be nice to have an incentive program that rewards people for introducing this site to friends.
Any thought of adding a filter in the preferences to allow us the choice of which language we would like to filter in or out of the lists. Would probably make searching/scrolling alot faster. Just a thought…
I realize you won’t be able to sort for more than a couple of ways but sorting by actor has come to mind a couple of times. no matter how you sort it will do no good unless you can actually watch the movie. i don’t know if it’s just me but i haven’t had much success watching a movie all the way through.
I admire you for striving to make this site better so keep up the good work.
I am not a critic of what you already have done here and I realize being a programmer can make your family wonder where you are all the time. Just keep up the good work…
Best regards
I would definitely like a language sorter. I’d also like to be able to save searches…or maybe create my own categories. Between hubby and me, there’s laundry list of shows that we keep tabs on, and sometimes it’s a pain to remember them all and type in each one. (I know that sounds incredibly lazy, but, hey…wasn’t that the inspiration for this whole thing anyway?) Filtering out the ones with bad ratings would be nice, too. If it doesn’t work, why should it be an option? I also second the suggestion of a more intuitive search function for the spelling and memory challenged among us. And I’m sure this would be very difficult, but I thought I’d throw it out there anyway…what if I want to search for movies that have to do with…say…frogs, but don’t necessarily have the word frog in the title? I know you guys are probably rolling your eyes at me right now, but just a thought. Maybe in version 23?
[moderator: By version 23, the telepathic interface should be full functional. Version 12c will probably have the meta-tags required to accomplish the frog search. The keeping tabs on shows you like is much closer - single digits for sure. Thanks for the suggestions!]
It would be nice if we were able to copy and paste into the search window.
Also, I like the idea of sorting by language. Maybe having where we could click on an “Advance” search like Google has with multiple search boxes for: language, category, genre, year (starting to ending), episode, rating (thumbs up for quality of movie), and so on.
I agree with ERIC DEWORTH in an above comment who p.s.’d “I love your website”.
Best wishes…
I STILL THINK THAT YOU SHOULD ALSO REGISTER EACH MOVIE BY MAIN ACTOR/ACTRESS. THIS WAY I’D ONLY HAVE TO TYPE SAY, JOHN WAYNE, AND ALL THE MOVIES YOU’VE GOT STARING HIM WILL POP UP. THEY DO THIS AT THE LIBRARY, AND IT WORKS GREAT!
I have only been using graboid for about a week now and am still in that “wow” phase. I’m in that period of time in which I constantly just type in names of movies either from the past or present, yelliing “wow, they have that too” and then watching them in amazement! I do predict however that I will eventually begin using the menu item available to search for movies I haven’t seen and will definately depend on the lower portion of the screen in which you get viewer ratings and in some cases a trailer. Something my wife keeps mentiioning is if we could search via actor. We all have actors/actresses we love to see, and would probably love to simply punch in his/her name and get a list of all the movies he/she was in. Searching by year wouldn’t be something I’d be interested in, but I certainly can’t speak for other users on that. In short, ovbiously improvements will never end, but I am absolutely in love with graboid just the way it is now, and look forward to the future as you guys play around and experiment with the program. Only wish I could be a part of it! LOVE YOU GUYS!!!
Pete
If you change only one thing to the search please let it be the lauguage sort.
It would be nice if you could group like video content. For example, if there are 10 of the same movie, have a plus/minus sign in front of the title to expand and collaps all the video titles into one, like grouping of rows in MS Excel.
[moderator: great idea! Consider it added to our user interface plans.]
i like the search the way it is. i mainly browse by genre or when it was added. i can choose to search by year and when i know what i’m looking for i can search that way too. i also take advantage of the imbd page at the bottom and look for movies with certain actors or themes and then i see if it’s on graboid. all in all i am very happy with this product. my wife and i use this all the time.
I am also a newbie to graboid, but am already hooked! I agree with all of the above, although my preferences would be language first, and then a way to block out bad titles, and perhaps search by actor/actress. Other than that, you guys are really great the way it is.
I would like to see a way to jump into the middle of the listings. for example : there are 5500 listings in a particular category and rather than jumping to the end and work ing backwards I could jump to 2500. This is because the listings list from most recent back. I really enjoy graboid. Thanks.
[moderator: Maybe I'm missing something. Can't you just scroll halfway down the search results? The screen will go blank for about 10 seconds as the listings populate themselves, but then you're ready to go.]
I Love This Site!,….Everything works great!
Only some shows that I would love to have originally came in english, I can only get in another language. Ghost Whisperer is an example, in the first and second seasons are only available in another language.
Everthing else is fine!
anything else is extra,….you guys are great in the movie Dept.
Happy Holidays!

(1) it would be nice if you added the file type of what you are downloading.
I never use the VLC player because it is too slow for my computer ( i run windows on parralels desktop), and sometimes i find the downloads are in strange formats
(2) I brows alot, it would be nice if you could track your favourtie tv shows instead of having to browse or search every time
(3) Have a section of movies: out in theatres, new to DVD, not yet on DV D to add organization
thanks
I use the drop down menus alot , I also search by name. I think being able to sort by Language would be great…as well as afore mentioned +,- to expand and collapse titles would be awesome as well….you are all doing great . Keep up the great work and I will continue my membership with you guys. Any idea as to how soon any updates will be available?
I search by year, and by theme, mainly , My big wish for the next version , is to be able to filtre out all other languages xcept English
One more note…It would be GREAT if you could either preview the content..or know the resolution of the video before downloading…this would save me from losing bandwith for movies I delete without watching due to poor video quality…again just a suggestion…thanks.
When are you going to post the next I love new york 2 episode after nip and tuck?
[moderator: Graboid does not control/encourage/promote/post/complain about content you can access via our software.]
I have only been using the site for a few weeks and I think it’s AWESOME! I would love to be able to sort by language or file type (avi, etc.) , and I think the advanced search options that have already been mentioned would be great. Keep doing what you’re doing!
PS A refer a friend incentive would be great, I’ve been telling everybody about the site!!
Indication of the file type (extension) would definitely be a PLUS. A sort by language helpful.
Site is great. What a find!
Really think Graboid’s members need to relax a bit when they go to tell everyone they know about this incredible utility. I don’t think Graboid otta’ give incentives for those who do as they most definately can’t handle a huge flood of new users to quickly. I bet eventually they will have to post when there are available slots open for new members. I would recomment to Graboid that you discontinue allowing new members at no charge. There is a total frenzy coming your way, and with the word of mouth you will not have to allow free memberships. Just my opinion, but we do need to think about the current members who are paying full price, members who really shouldn’t have to wait for the proper bandwith to come their way as they wait in line to begin watching a movie. We want Graboid to succeed, but helping them not grow to quickly would be beneficial both to them and to us who currently pay for memberships. Am I right Graboid?
[moderator: There are certainly limits on how many new users we can handle in a short period, but we upgrade our servers continuously to increase capacity in response to demand. We have no intention of discontinuing the free version. Bring on the frenzy.]
I think what I’ve truly noticed that’s frustrating is no “back” application. If I click an episode I want especially in a season, I’d like to be able to go back to the list that came up under my search. For example: If I want to watch all of season 2 of CSI, I’d type in CSI 2x… once I click to download episode one, I can’t get back to my list of CSI season 2. I have to go all the way out and search again. All in all, loving it though!
and now i have a question too if i may
Are you guys working on grober ?
Because grober keeps NOT RESPONDING i mean it works fine just that small q:
I mean i know it can’t be me cuz i have 3 firewalls 1 of them is a server firewall and i have 2 anti viruses working ob my PC KASPERSKY PERSONAL PRO LAB and F-PROT
But it could so can u clear me up on that
AND GUYS TRUST ME YOU CAN”T FIND ANYTHING FASTER AND BETTER THAN THIS SO STOP LOOKING
Morpheus , kazza , strong dc , dc++ ,Odc , Bitlord ….etc they are fast for small files but for movies forget it it will take u up to a day maybe 2 to download a 700MB movie 2 DAYS max speed will probably hit THE MID 200Kb/s if you are lucky and it’s not going to Download at that speed for long only about 2 3 min max so compare 200kb to 1mb u can’t and it’s faster than that about 1500kb/s on average so so don’t look anymore trust me u won’t find anything I LOOKED EVERYWHERE FREE OR NOT THIS IS THE BEST YET i looked around and i tried over 100 programs and nothing came close to it actually one did i don’t remember what it was
but it used the same strategy DIRECT IP that’s what makes it faster
good luck to ya’ll and i’ll come by see what else i can help ya’ll out with
OH AND IF U HAVE A QUESTION EMAIL ME I’LL TRY TO HELP U OUT AS MUCH AS I CAN

i check it daily so if the moderator might not be on i will
I agree with Kelly about the “back” feature. I have found that I quickly check out the downloads of the day but almost immediately go to the Search feature and for mostly TV shows. Once I find the show I’m looking for, if I download more than one episode, I’d like to toggle back and forth between the “downloads” and my search without having to re-search. The “back” (and possibly a “forward”) button would be so much more convenient.
Please take a moment and visit another site that will try to improve Graboid .
I just started it December 4th so it’s just an infant, but it should be helpfull for Graboid users and also help in designing a better product.
http://www.wireclub.com/Clubs/Graboid
It’s best to copy the above URL and paste it into your browser address line, I find that Graboids browser tends to be abit slow, hopefully it will improve in time.
In time if it gains members and is a success, I will hand over the administrative rights to the owners of Graboid if they would like it to be another outlet to gather our thoughts and such.
By the way, I recieved notice that it may take time for the site to be approved, so please check back if you can’t log in yet.
I was just kicked off this site, personally I don’t know what I did, my intention was only to help Graboid become better.
Is there a way to reset the Bandwidth Used, indicated on the bottom left of the application window? I can’t seem to access any more videos and I was wondering why the amount of Bandwidth I’ve used is limiting and stopping me from uploading/buffering any more videos.
[moderator: the bandwidth resets every month, on the date that you first signed up for Graboid. This is true for all accounts other than the Platinum unlimited version. Free accounts are 4 GB (about enough for 2 movies or 10 TV episodes, more if you're viewing highly compressed files).]
I am new to your site, and have found it very easy to use. I was wondering if for tohse of us that do not want to access the adsult section. Can there be another payment plan for that? Even if it costs the same and the other plans.
[moderator: You can turn off display of adult content in the preferences menu. In a future version this will be password-protected.]
