On some computers, when installing Graboid 0.96 for the first time, there will be an error during preference setting, indicating that the directories could not be changed. The application will then leave preferences and then not buffer properly. Restarting the application will fix this, and the directories will be set properly.
If you haven’t already, visit our new Graboid Community Forum.

I wonder if you could help me, I have downloaded the new version of your software and all I seem to get is a nilobjection error message, I have uninstalled and re-installed the software but am still having the same problem. I am running windows Vista.
I look forward to hearing from you shortly.
Kind regards
Ciaran
[moderator: Especially if you're running Vista, please download and install version 0.95, not 0.96. 0.95 is now the default download from our website. The nilobject error is transient. If you get it, wait 30 seconds or so and try again to stream or download something. If it insists on not working, then please contact support. Also, there is a specific fix for a Vista video display problem (although that's not what you're getting). Do a search in this blog for Vista and you'll find the post with the fix link.]
I have installed, uninstalled, reinstalled, countless times. I have emailed multiple pleas to tech support and in the comments section. When the problem first occurred, over a week ago, I announced myself as one of the victims, but urged others not to get cranky with wonderful Graboid. I did get one response to an early email from a Ms. Harrison at Graboid tech support, who told me if I couldn’t probide the Grabpoid temp files there was no help and Graboid would refund my money. I did find the files …..I had trashed them as soon as I had a problem, as I had been instructed to do with earlier problems. I have sent them, as requested, twice to Graboid support, and have received no answer. I am now in the second week of no buffering and am getting the nilobject error report. I am now with 9.6, and restarted as you advised when it couldn’t change directories. The directory is now changed to documents as you said, bu t still no buffering and the dreaded nilobject. What do I have to do to get someone to help me. The meter is running but the service is not! Not fair!
[moderator: Did you get the auto-responder email when sending in your log files? There's a chance your email with an attachment was derailed by an ISP spam filter. If you could please, cut and paste the log files into the body of your email. If you don't get the autoresponder email, then try again from a different email account. The nilobject error report is almost always a transient error. If you try to download the file again, it will usually work. Now, based on what you're saying, there is something else going on here. Make sure you're running the former version 0.95. Do a complete uninstall of Graboid, delete all the associated folders, re-install 0.95, and if it doesn't work, get that log file to us, having done all of those steps. A final option is to go to the community forum and create a new post with your log file as the contents. If it cuts you off, just paste the latter part of the file. Either someone at Graboid or one of our users will probably be able to pinpoint your problem.]
saddly i’m in the same boat, i’ve posted on here, on the forums, and emailed three times, i realize my email may not be getting through becouse i never got the automated responce, but even a simple reply to my post on the forums would have been nice. I understand your are working hard on the new version, but for those of us that havent had any use of the service for two weeks and paid for a membership it is a bit of a let down, when the service was working it was great, now i’m begining to have my doubts.
[moderator: see my response to the previous post. Our working hard on the new version is no excuse to not respond to existing problems of course. Please do use the new community forums, as we and many other users monitor the forums and can offer advice.]
