We at Graboid have our own reasons for developing the software and service, much of it selfish, because we want to get these videos for ourselves. There are many ways to get tv shows and movies for free, or inexpensively on the net; however, Graboid appears to be more of a special resource for tv episodes than for movies. Perhaps because there are so many more tv shows than there are movies, it’s hard for them to get aggregated in one place.
It would be interesting to know what brought you, and what keeps you, interested in Graboid. I have to believe it’s the tv shows and that the movies are of incidental interest. What are you watching out there?

Both.
But I’m going to say that TV must be more popular because we know they’ll be great quality, unlike the movies.
My intrest is the older tv shows that are no longer on television, back when television was good. such as old comedy, scifi, westerns, and many others.
I like both movies and old tv shows. I hope you will be getting more shows like emergency & adam 12. I really loved these shows.
Movies, but now I am into the TV shows too.
For me its movies, especially that I can download HD movies and watch them. Its easy and simple unlike many other programs
Old tv no longer aired
I discovered Graboid by accident.- you see, I was searching the web for television shows from the late seventies and early eighties. The movies I have found here were simply an added bonus!
Honestly, my brother signed up as a beta tester and introduced me to graboid - when it was publicly released - I instantly bought the unlimited package (Right now I have gold because I couldn’t afford Unlimited because I have so many college expenses)
I think the statement you made is 100% wrong. THE MAIN reason why I use graboid is the MOVIES MOVIES MOVIES! ANY movie I feel like watching…I can watch. BECAUSE of graboid. I’m not so much a TV show man - more of a movie guy myself - but seriously, its not just me, all my buddies use it for the MOVIES -
THANK YOU SO SO MUCH FOR CREATING THIS AMAZINGGG SERVICE!!!!
-Nick.
What about the porn?
both movies and tv shows, all the shows and movies you can’t find on dvd and even cancelled shows that continued elsewhere. this program is the greatest .
Movies! The TV shows are a great inclusion but definitely 95% movies.
HD movies…TV shows too (I use a 37” 1080P LCD TV as a secondary monitor and a 47” in the living room so the more HD content the better!) Many of the other HD movie rips I’ve downloaded always suffer from terrible compression artifacts and any of the HD movies I’ve downloaded so far off of Graboid have been near perfect, some look exactly as they would on the Blu-Ray or HD-DVD disc. Regular DVD movies and TV show are still great quality, but keep adding that HD content!
I came for the movies, but after downloading 4 or so which were videotaped by someone in a movie theater, i decided i was wasting my bandwidth.
Until you implement a system where we can see the SOURCE NAME, and see if it has “TC” or “screener” in it — rather than DVDRIP — before we commit to the download, I won’t download movies.
TV shows are smaller files. If the quality sucks, then not so much time and bandwidth has been lost.
Hey Dan, instead of immediately downloading the movie, buffer it first and watch about the first ten seconds to see what the quality is like before you commit to a download.
And FYI, if the movie just came out in theaters and it is up for download, 95% of the time it will be a cam. Every now and then you will find it in a SCREENER version, but that’s why you should buffer it first to see… that is my suggestion to you.
Hey Poostain, that’s a good idea, but buffering has never worked on my 3Mbps connection.
Hmmm, that’s weird, mine isn’t much faster than that and it buffers fine. But I don’t even bother trying to buffer DVD movies, because they’re like 5 gigs, and it takes like 20 minutes just to buffer those. I just stick to the 700mb-1.5gb movies.
But no matter what speed your connection is, it should still be able to buffer the movie, it’s just that the slower your connection is, the more it will cause it to re-buffer.
But on a 3Mbps connection you should easily be able to buffer the first couple of minutes of a movie in a short amount of time.
Also, make sure you have the latest version which is 9.4.0… because they have worked out buffering kinks in the newer versions… and if you already have 9.4.0 then I don’t know what the problem is!
But I also believe in Sasquatch, so what the hell do I know anyways?!?! I need a life.
TV: HBO, Showtime, Bravo, A&E, etc. — the good stuff!
The old and new series is what keeps us here. It’s almost next to the full lenght movies (old an new ones).
I believe in Sasquatch too. I believe that these kind of questions keep your brain working.
That brings me to the idea of an educational section. Could that be possible? National Geographic, documentaries, histories, and such.
Just an idea.
How about some news content - Like Countdown With Keith Olbermann?
movies. 99% so far woth every penny of th $25
I joined because I found the Ice Road Truckers content on you site and I have a vested interest in it
After forcibly being retired with orders for no more stress or exertion, I’ve had 10 years of multiple repeats of juvenile comedies and how to cook pasta. I’ve looked all over the internet and the selections are few and expensive, and the quality is some what less than appealing.
Since finding your service I’ve come to believe all the other services are charatans ripping off an unsuspecting public . I just wish I could afford greater access but must make the financial decision between high speed internet and your service. (the rising cost of medication is a real bitch)
i prefer tv shows, cause movies take longer
I joined for the variety. I have cancelled my Direct TV and have replaced it with Graboid, Netflix, HD antennae, and TVU. My current monthly cost is about $11.00 as opposed to the $50 a month I was spending before. I get my local channels through the HD antennae and movies and tv shows through the sources listed above in addition to network TV websites. Thank you for your service and considering the purchase of additional bandwidth, just not yet.
I joined Graboid for the TV programs, old and new. Started when I saw you had Zorro from the 1990 series, shame it turned out to be the Zorro from the 1950 series. I am sure you have no control over mislabeled files and cannot check them out. I love your system for indexing content, I have quit Giganews that has the same content but has no such index. I no longer need cable TV or a DVR, I can download all the shows I want right here including the programs I enjoy from the UK, Robin Hood for one.
Great job guys, keep it up.
Yeah, this is better than having cable. I got this primarily for TV shows. I am planning on taking the money that I used to shelve out for cable/satellite and build a more powerful computer just so I can watch these shows on my 50 in plasma screen television!
Primarily for the TV shows. No commercials, better quality than I can get on my rabbit ears antenna, you can find the subtitles for some of the programs on http://www.podnapisi.net , the high speed downloading, the quick benefit of a description from the web interface. Language indication.
Thanx for the great package!
