We get a lot of requests from people as to how to get videos they download onto a DVD for easier viewing on their TVs. We have a special deal from Roxio for 10% off any of their various burning products on their site - use code SAVE10RX, it’s good until the end of the year.

Another way to get movies to your TV is to run an S Video cable from your computer to
your TV. All newer computers and TV’s have an S Video connection. We ran one
about 50 feet between our computer and TV and it works great. S Video is good for
HD watching.
I am interested in burning the movies to DVD thatI have downloaded but I cant reveal the files as it shows some error up. How do I find the files in the burning software so that I can burn them.
Thanks
Alan
[Moderator: Please try http://www.burnworld.com/, they may have the answer to your question. We don't know which burning software you may be using.]
1: svideo will not carry hd
you need component video or better (dvi or hdmi)
2: the best all around burning software i have found is nero.
If you go to the location of the file after it has completed the download you should be able to check the file ext.
if you are not familiar with that ext. use the web to see what program you need to work with it.
it is possible to use 99%of what you see here with dvdshrink and nero.
btw svideo was sort of a step child in the vidoeo world most new stuf will not come with it.
Or if you wanted, you could always just purchase a high definition projector and make your living room wall your new t.v.!
Too bad those electronic Nazis price those things so damn high!
yep, me to, when i try to back-up or watch a movie from graboid i get this lenghy error message basicly saying it can’t be found. I also have a genuine copy of nero too, but can i find the ext file,…..no!
Are you running Windows Vista? I had the same problem finding the files until somebody in another post pointed out that Vista kind of hides them. It’s bured way under \users\your uservname\appdata (may be a hidden folder)\local\virtualstore\program files\graboid\tools\nntp\archiver
I believe you can designate to store them in My Documents.
See if that helps. Also, re: svideo and HD. The poster is correct, it’s not true HD, but I ihave to say that it looks pretty darn good to my eyes!
Also, for burning, do a search for DVD Flick. It’s freeware/open source. Basically combines a bunch of programs through an interface. Seems to do a pretty decent job. Make sure you work through the preferences though, to set it up for NTSC vs PAL and a few other settings. Also, it doesn’t do a menu, so (for example) four 30 minute shows on a DVD will play once right after the other, although you can use skip ahead or back, using the remote.
if you want to see where graboid is storing your files go to file in the upper left corner then go to preferences. you can also change where they go to. I find it easiest to make my own location and to keep things seperate IE for downloaded software i have a folder labled “downloaded software” for movies you guessed it i have a “movies” folder. it is very important to manage these locations because movies can fill hard drives realy fast. you should also tell windows to show file extensions and to show hidden folders. this can be done in any windows explorer screen under view-folder options. once you do this you can see every folder/file in your computer. just be careful what you delete.
DVDForger is a great freeware utility to burn these files to DVD. It is limited, but you can create a simple menu for the disk. You can burn a DVD through the program, or build a dvd and save the VIDEO_TS folder on your computer, or a few other choices.
I mostly like it because it’s free.
Ok, so I am completely computer illiterate and I am trying to burn some of the movies I have downloaded onto DVD. Now I have Nero, which I still am not sure how to use, but everytime I think I have it right, it says that Nero does not support the file type I am trying to burn. Please help before I drive myself stupid! Thank you
I think you will need to use a program like DVD flick they convert the files you have downloaded to the approporiate files needed to burn to a disc, and make it viewable on a dvd player
Does anyone know why I cannot see my list of downloaded movies, or my flagged list? They were there a couple days ago and now nothing:(
or why I cannot download anything? I have paid for service at the introductory price and still have over half my bandwidth remaining, but this is the 2nd day this has been happening. Anyone?
try reinstalling graboid ,but remove the entire program first, and then reinstall I had a similiar problem a while ago but now its working like a charm
hey venessa,
read my prior posts in this thread. nero will be able to handle 99% of the of the files found here without additional programs. one cool trick i have found is that you can rename the file ext for somethings that nero will not recognize, ie: if a file says spider-man.img rename it to spider-man.iso and nero burning rom will open it.
the nero package has lots of different goodies in it. if you have an .iso file use burning rom. if it is an avi use start smart and the make your own movie feature.
also download winrar because some of the files come compressed to a .rar file. if you unzip it with winrar they will often be a .iso.
