Check the Colored Boxes Before Downloading
Have you ever wondered what those green, yellow, and red boxes mean when downloading in Graboid? Well, these colored boxes can help you determine whether or not the download is worth using up your bandwidth on. Each colored box represents how often the video has worked using a threshold we have in place.
Green illustrates that the file has worked over 70% of the time it has been downloaded.
Yellow illustrates that the file has worked between 40% – 70% of the time it has been downloaded
Red illustrates that the file has worked less than 40% of the time it has been downloaded.
The colored boxes do not represent the quality of the video, but whether or not the video itself will work. That’s why it’s important to note the number of votes the file also has to guarantee the best download.
Tip for making red files work:
Downloads that are colored red often do work, but generally have missing files that make the video fail to play. An example of this would be a downloaded video missing a codec. You would have to search for the appropriate codec to install in order for the video to play. However, there are many ways of tracking these missing files in order to play the video. Although we do not recommend that you try unless you are willing to forgo the bandwidth.

Graboid Question of the Month
Q. Should I remove old downloaded videos from my Graboid file to create more space on my computer? – Philippa J.
A. If you would like to free up some space on your computer, you can certainly remove videos you no longer wish to watch from your hard drive. It’s always a good routine to go through your files and decide what you need and what you don’t watch in order to keep your computer running at a faster speed.
Keep in mind that completed files do not slow down your experience with Graboid; however the more large files you store on your hard drive will definitely slow down your computer. Another solution would be to purchase an external hard drive from any electronic store (like Best Buy) or big box department store (like Wal-Mart). This way you can keep the files you want without slowing down your computer.
Be aware that if you delete a file from your hard drive, it will be deleted from all locations and you will not be able to recover the file at a later date.
